My first experience with Centered Riding was a lesson from my niece Bernadette, who is also an instructor. It gave me balance during riding but also in normal life, so I decided to spend more time on the subject. This resulted in my first level instruction certification with Mitzi Summers.
I like teaching the Centered Riding method because it is horse-friendly style of riding. Centered Riding is based on a couple of logical principles that allow the rider to improve a horse instead of hampering it.
Moreover Centered Riding has helped me to literally stand more firmly, on the ground and in real-life.
Every two years I participate in an update clinic, I’ve attended extra scooling days with Margreet Bouwman (Alona) including a course in Feldenkrais, participated in clinics with Tom Nagel and Hanna Engstrom to develop my seat and posture and ‘fill my toolbox’ for ridinglessons and will continue to do so.
