Ben Hart clinic in Somerset

Early April I participated in a Ben Hart clinic ().
On his Website he explaines how he works and that safety for man and horse (and donkey) is key for him.

“Hart’s Horsemanship believes in putting the horse, donkey or mule first, and while balancing the needs of domestication, being guided by the principle, “do no harm,” a principle which creates an ethical approach to horse training. Ben’s courses are practical and fun and designed to educate owners and trainers so they can develop their own skills to transform their relationships with their equines.

Ben doesn’t just work with the horse, but also with the rider als a trainer: what’s your view of life, but also how aware are you in your roll as a trainer. He works with ‘shaping plans’ in training. This helps you stay aware of the proces and of what it is you want to accomplish. His positive appoach helps you to focus on what’s working well, thus creating an effective training envirement for your horse.

A very interesting weekend, answering a lot of questions about how to work with your horses in an ethical, pleasend way!
